Statement on the Occasion of the United Nations Global Day of Parents 2025 Theme: ‘’Raising Parents
By UPF-Africa - June 10, 2025
On the occasion of the Global Day of Parents, the Universal Peace Federation – Africa (UPF
Africa) reaffirms that parenthood is the highest form of leadership, rooted in unconditional
love, sacrifice, and responsibility. In a world facing crises of values and direction, the family
remains the first school of peace, and parents, the first educators.
The role of parents is foundational for the emotional, moral, and social development of
children. A child who experiences authentic parental love grows into a responsible citizen
who contributes to peace and justice in society.
Inspired by the vision of its Founders and the continued leadership of Dr. Hak Ja Han,
knowing as Holy Mother Han and Mother of Peace, UPF-Africa recognizes that the parental
heart is the essence of true governance—one that leads by love, not coercion; by service, not
self-interest.
In light of UNICEF’s designation of June 2025 as the Month of Parenting, UPF-Africa
encourages:
The promotion of parental heart education in schools and leadership training;
The support and mentoring of young and expecting parents;
The recognition of parenthood as a civic and moral competency;
Community mobilization around projects rooted in family values and responsible
stewardship;
Support for initiatives that celebrate and elevate the role of parents in society.
Key Principles to Remember:
Becoming a true parent is the highest human calling;
Peace begins in the family, through the ethics of heart-centered parenthood;
Parenthood is a divine mission, a foundation for building a just and loving world.
Let June 2025 be a historic moment—a global awakening to the value of parenting as a
catalyst for peace, development, and human flourishing.
Together, let us raise a generation of true parents to heal the world.
