The celebration began in the morning, with prayers led by the Regional Leader for Eastern Uganda of the Family Federation for World Peace, Rev. David Phiri. During his prayer, Rev. Phiri called for divine protection over all peacebuilding activities in Uganda, especially as the nation prepares for its upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. He emphasized the values of unity, hard work, and collective effort toward achieving peace.
The attendees were reminded of the role that peace plays in the development and stability of the country, particularly as the election period approaches. The session concluded with a discussion on strengthening the efforts of Ambassadors for Peace in promoting harmony and peaceful engagement within communities across Uganda.
