Bamako, Mali – In a powerful effort to protect Mali’s youth during the school holiday period, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), in partnership with several key civil society organizations, held an awareness conference focused on the dangers of drug use among young people. The event took place at the Adiara School Complex (CSMA) on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

The conference gathered over 60 participants, including high school students, university youth, youth associations, and education professionals. It was a collaborative effort between UPF-Mali and several partner organizations: the Regroupement des Orphelins, Cabinet FoRA Consulting, Office Central des Stupéfiants, and OLUCOS NGO. All of these partners have signed an agreement with UPF to support youth education in Mali.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in educational sessions about the risks of drug consumption, the impact of addiction on health and society, and the role of youth as peacebuilders and responsible leaders in their communities.

This initiative aimed not only to raise awareness but also to empower young people with the knowledge and tools to make informed, healthy choices and to remain vigilant against the spread of narcotics in schools and neighborhoods.
