Angola - Luanda, The Universal Peace Federation in Angola convened a significant conference on September 16, 2023, in the prestigious amphitheater of the Tocoist Higher Polytechnic Institute, situated in Luanda. The central theme of this gathering was "Peace and Responsible Citizenship," and it featured distinguished Ambassadors for Peace representing various branches, including IAPP, IAPD, IMAP, and IATP.

In attendance were 80 individuals participating in person, with an additional 18 joining the event remotely via Zoom from São Tomé and Príncipe, Portugal, and Namibia. The conference garnered extensive media coverage, as it was broadcasted by two national television channels, TPA and TV ZIMBO. Furthermore, Radio Tocoist provided comprehensive live coverage of the event and received a prestigious certificate of recognition from UPF ANGOLA as the Radio of Peace. It is noteworthy that UPF ANGOLA hosts a weekly radio program on Radio Tocoist every Thursday, dedicated to character education. Distinguished guests included traditional authorities, political figures, religious leaders, academics, and members of civil society were also present. During the event, participants had the privilege of watching the speech delivered by Dr. Manuel Adão Domingos, National President of the Universal Peace Federation via Zoom. This address was also the subject of interviews conducted by various national television networks.

Honoring and Appointment of New Ambassadors For Peace

The Universal Peace Federation of Angola, in collaboration with IMAP (International Media Association for Peace), bestowed a prestigious "Radio of Peace" certificate upon Radio Tocoist. This recognition was awarded in acknowledgment of the collaborative efforts of UPF Angola and FFWPU Angola through their radio program: "PEACE AND RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP." The program's primary focus lies in imparting Character Education, thereby enhancing the understanding of the teachings of the Divine Principle. The certificate was presented to His Holiness Bishop Afonso Nunes and João Ndombaxi, the Director General of Radio Tocoist.

Furthermore, the Universal Peace Federation also conferred an Ambassador for Peace Certificate upon the esteemed sociologist and journalist, José Ventura, in recognition of his exemplary contributions to the field of media and teaching, significantly impacting the lives of numerous young people over 18 years. His accomplishments were also highlighted in a report by an Angolan newspaper.

Another Ambassadors for Peace Diploma was awarded to radio journalist Félix Lalo, the principal presenter of the program: "PEACE AND RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP" by the Universal Peace Federation-Angola, broadcasted on Toccoa radio every Thursday from 9 am until 10 am.
