Uganda – The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Uganda Chapter joined families, educators, and students in honoring the United Nations Day of Parents, highlighting the vital role of parents in nurturing peace, unity, and shared values within society.

The celebration brought together parents and students from three schools, including Peace High School, for a heartfelt program designed to express gratitude and strengthen family bonds. Students performed poems and plays praising their parents, showcasing their appreciation and love in creative and moving ways.

The parents in attendance—many of whom are Ambassadors for Peace—participated in a deeply moving prayer session led by Bishop Deogratius Mugarura of World Revival Ministries Church in Kampala. His message inspired families to renew their commitment to building peaceful, loving homes that serve as the foundation for a harmonious society.

The event also featured musical presentations, including songs dedicated to parents and a special dance performance by students, bringing joy and celebration to all who attended. The gathering concluded with a shared meal at the Peace High School Community Hall, fostering connection and fellowship among families, educators, and community leaders.

By marking the UN Day of Parents, UPF Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to supporting families as the cornerstone of peacebuilding efforts. The celebration served as a reminder that strong, caring, and united families are essential to raising responsible citizens who will lead their communities toward lasting peace and understanding.
