Uganda – The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Uganda Chapter joined the continent in commemorating the UN Day of the African Child on June 16, 2025, by supporting a meaningful student-led event focused on raising awareness about the challenges faced by children across Africa.

In observance of this important day, students presented a thought-provoking theatrical play that vividly depicted the many hardships confronting the African child. Through storytelling and drama, they highlighted pressing issues such as limited access to education, poverty, child labor, conflict, and the need for stronger protection of children’s rights.

The performance served not only to educate audiences but also to spark critical reflection on the collective responsibility of communities, leaders, and organizations to improve the welfare and future prospects of Africa’s children. The young performers used their creative talents to give voice to those who too often remain unheard, reminding everyone of the urgency to act.

By supporting this activity, UPF Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for children’s rights, promoting education, and fostering a culture of peace and understanding. The event underscored UPF’s broader mission to empower the next generation to become leaders of positive change, working toward a more equitable and compassionate society for all African children.
